Presentation of the findings of the projectPARK research study

ProjectPARK identified which park features are most important for encouraging children, adolescents and older adults to visit parks more often, and to be more active and social during their park visit.  ProjectPARK was a large-scale, three year multi-phased study that examined the relative importance of park features that attract children (8-12 years), adolescents (13-18 years) and older adults (65+ years) to visit parks, and to be active and socially interact during park visits.  The research involved walk-along interviews and online surveys with community members, which provided detailed information from both park visitors and non-park visitors.

In this presentation, Jenny will share findings regarding which park features were most valued by children, adolescents, and older adults and outline the park features that will help to achieve the ‘perfect park’.  These insights can help stakeholders better understand what park features should be prioritised for optimal park (re)planning to maximise the use of parks, while also catering to individuals across the lifespan.
