Innovative partnership approaches - doing more with less to deliver sporting outcomes
Banyule City Council has been a major contributor to two community sports infrastructure projects in collaboration with commercial , community, government and education partners. The Latrobe University Sports Complex and the Malahang Reserve 5 a side community soccer pitch are two projects that have addressed significant needs and future sports growth for Banyule. It is fair to say that these needs may not have been realised had there not been some innovative approaches to funding and delivery, including building a business case and Council understanding to invest in a University sports complex that is not actually located in Banyule.
Members of the panel will share their perspective, role and learnings in both case studies.
